The VSonic is a Supported Leading Edge (SLE), high performance 4 line kite, with 100 % depower capability.
The VSonic is for riders who want a fast, high boosting kite. It has been designed for speed, upwind performance, huge lift and massive wind range.
The shape of the leading edge of the VSonic. With a low aspect central region and high aspect wing tips, the VSonic delivers superior stability, increased power in light winds, faster turns and even easier relaunch.
Available sizes for the Vsonic are 6, 8, 11, 14, 17 m2.
The 2009 V-Sonic is a logical evolution of what we have been working on since 2006. The concept of having 2 aspect-ratios in one kite lets the kite work for more people by giving you pivot-turning and power along with upwind efficiency. The AKPO adjustable bridle system also allows the kite to work for varied styles of rider.
Very important : This concerns Vsonic and Trix. Adjusting your kite by moving the A-KPO bridle attachment points will give you a huge range of different kite performance styles. It only takes a few seconds to make changes. Have a trytill you get the perfect kite that fits you.
The profile and the shape of the Vsonic and Trix are probably the best compromise. Unfortunately we have not found yet a good solution to control the profile like on any sail, but we do have the ability to change the center of balance, that is the most important thing to adjust correctly. On 09 kites will be fit with less bar pressure, and more performance in low wind range.
The V-Sonic is the perfect kite for me because I like to rocket upwind and soar the floaty jumps. This thing is like an anti-gravity machine. The relaunch is almost automatic. Just let go of the bar and it will right itself and be ready to go! IRMA HARRIS, GK INTERNATIONAL RIDER.
The 17 VSonic turns relatively quick for a 17m2 kite. .... I think it is more responsive to the initial bar imput than the 07 Sonic was. The Kite launched very easily in the winds today. I put it down in several areas of the wind window and even tried to get it to relaunch from a direct downwind launch area and it just rolled onto its side and headed to the edge of the window as soon as I let the bar slide out. The kite took off the water with little effort ... I was amazed at how well it reset it self for launch. The kite self launches from land as easy as any flatter bow kite can ... I just moved the back line one more attachment point back from the factory setting and this baby just rolls over when you pull on one of the outside lines ... even in light wind. Upwind ability was impressive as usual. Now for the fun part.... This kite is a jumping machine. I put on a good show for GK today. Everyone I passed on my way back to my car said.... wow, you got some huge, long jumps. Every other brand of kite was out today size 12m2 and up to 17m2. Nothing came close to the height and duration of jumps that your 17 kite did. This is my kind of kite. A little too much for some beginners.... but great for some beginners and intermediate and up. Thanks. Remember.... I want a flourescent green and white model 17 if possible.
